'the mask you live in'

I'd like to share a documentary that - to me anyway - has everything to do with love. I was told by someone it was really powerful and worth seeing and it is. It's about how men in American society (but applies to men worldwide I think to different degrees) are being raised and influenced and how this effects everything in profound ways, for them and the world we live in. Although much of it was not new to me, some stuff is and seeing it all together is telling a powerful and sometimes heartbreaking story.

'real love is the strongest stuff in the Universe'

I remembered a speech of Anthony ("Van") Jones at the Woman's March on the 21st of January this year that really touched me then and would like to share with you here.

embracing life

John Lennon said it all and he said it well. He describes so well how I see life and where the negativity in the world stems from:

turning hate into love

a modern time hero in my opinion, Kal Penn, for being able to respond to hate in this powerful and amazing way:

"To the dude who said I don't belong in America, I started a fundraising page for Syrian Refugees in your name."

“We are better than the hateful people who tell us we don’t belong in our own country, that America can’t be a beacon of freedom and hope for refugees from around the world.

We will turn their bigotry, along with the President’s, into love,”
he vowed.

Martin Luther King will have loved his initiative:

Kal Penn's fundraiser-page: "Donating to Syrian refugees in the name of the dude who said I don't belong in America"

Kal's last update is from the 1st of February, about the donated amount having reached over 800.000 dollars..!

'love comes more naturally to the human heart than its opposite'

so true and I hope we can soon find ways to reach this on a large scale:

a Sanskrit wish I got in my inbox recently that relates to it:

all that we share

the people in our world aren't so different in essence. Although we have different ideas on what it looks like, don't we all live, love, laugh, want a good life for ourselves and the people we love, have any degree of insecurities, know or have known fear, grief over loss etc., wherever we are from or what our life-choices are?

long story short: we share so much! A beautiful illustration of this is this powerful video I came across today from a Danish televisionnetwork (based on a well known concept known as Challenge Day that's been part of American and Canadian schools for around 20 years now) you can easily transfer it to our worldpopulation:

welcome!

welcome to this website, a place I created as a reminder to us that we as human beings are - above anything else - a loving and powerful species. Something I felt an urge to throw out there as a reaction to what's going on in the world.
